KICK OFF !
For the first time, we’ll kick things off at midnight. This will be the first ultracycling to start at 00.00 hours in Indonesia. But first thing first- coffee!! There’ll be coffee and small snack waiting for everyone at the start to get you fueled up for the ride.
START AND CHECKPOINTS
The ride will start on 5th July 2026 at 12.00 AM WIB (UTC+7) and ended on 11th July 2026 at 12.00 PM WIB (UTC+7). All riders will start from Pontianak and must collect a total of 5 stickers from start to finish, including 3 checkpoints. All riders must check in at designated check points along the route within the given time limit (Cut Off Time).

Please note that there is a 1 hour different between Indonesia and Malaysia

The Borders
Riders will cross 2 borders between Indonesia and Malaysia. Please note that the border is open only from 08.00 AM until 04.00 PM (UTC+7)). So plan properly to save your time. Prepare your passport and remember to fill a mandatory paperwork to clear your bicycle at Indonesian Custom.
ROUTE CHARACTERISTIC
PALM JUNGLE AND SCENIC RIVER VIEW : ROUTE TO CHECKPOINT 1
Leaving Pontianak you will enter a smooth paved road (beware of potholes). Then enjoy the gravel section entering palm jungle before enroute along the Kapuas River that over scenic view along the way. This is where the longest gravel section along the route is happening.
ROLLING HILLS : ROUTE TO CHECKPOINT 2
From CP1, you will enter another gravel section to Bukit Kelam area. Enjoy the cold fresh air around the monolith and have an upclose view of the rock. You can make an option to stop by the iconic longhouse of Dayak tribe at Ensaid Panjang. The rest of the journey will be smooth rolling climbs entering the until checkpoint 2. This is where you will get a chance to spot some of the wildest animal you can only see in the land of Borneo. A long climb will take you to see the breath-taking scenic view of Sentarum Lake.
Fun Facts : Sentarum Lake is a seasonal lake that will dry up for 2-5 months depends on the weather. It is acknowledge by the UNESCO as a part of Kapuas Hulu Biosphere Reserve.


THE HIGHWAY : ROUTE TO CHECKPOINT 3
CP2 is the end line of Indonesian area. You will cross the border to Malaysia and head to the next challenge, Pan Borneo Highway. Supply yourself well at the nearest town before you enter the long stretching highway where shops are scarce. A mix of wind and steep climb will challenge you before you enter the city of Kuching.
The good news is no gravel, smooth paved road along the way!

THE COAST AND CITY OF 1001 TEMPLES : ENTERING THE FINISH LINE
From CP3 you will ride to the next border and enter back Indonesia. Have a relaxing ride along the coast and get a break in Singkawang City, also known as the city of 1001 temples and the most tolerant city in Indonesia. The journey will be relaxing yet windy, the kind you expect when you ride along the coast.


FINAL STRETCH TO THE FINISH LINE
Long and winding roads are far behind you. As you entering Pontianak city, you will spot the iconic Equator Monuments. A remembrance that you are about to finish your ride in Borneo - the land of Equator. A remembrance that you’ve witness the magic of LINTAS BORNEO.
WEATHER & OTHER RISKS
Borneo’s climate can be overwhelming, especially in July when the temperature is at it’s highest. Expect extreme heat and sudden rain storm along the way. You never know what will happen the next hours. Hydrate well and keep yourself warm during cold night rain. Certain area is long and harsh without any supply points. Supply yourself well especially when you enter Malaysia to make sure you have what you need to fuel yourself.
There are a few things to watch out during your ride. Wild animals such as snakes, monkeys, and wild dogs are very common in this area. Descents can be surprisingly fast and steep. Beware of heavy vehicles that often pass by the route as well. Respect each other and you will be fine. Borneo is one of cycling haven in Indonesia, so take your time - ride carefully, and embrace the journey.
